Ben Gibbard Ranks Death Cab for Cutie’s Eight Albums
CRAZY FACT ALERT:
Death Cab for Cutie released arguably (and in my opinion) their best album in October 2003, Transatlanticism.
The Postal Service release their only album (Give Up) in February 2003.
What an absolutely insane year for Ben Gibbard. He released two of the most important albums of the last twenty years, and two of the biggest albums in indie rock.
Wow.
“Death of an Interior Decorator” is still my favorite cut from Transatlanticsm. It’s the bridge, man. Gets me every time. If you liked The O.C. growing up, then you love “The Sound of Settling” for sure.
It’s hard to pick a favorite Postal Service track ‘cuz the album is great straight through. But I’d probably have to go with “We Will Become Sillhouettes.”
