What a couple weeks for Chicago hip hop!
Mick Jenkins released his excellent sophomore album, Pieces of a Man. The album features Ghostface Killah, BadBadNotGood, Kaytranada, and others.
Saba dropped a new track, “Stay Right Here,” making it the first new music since his excellent 2018 LP Care for Me.
Smino blessed the world with a raunchy new LP, NOIR. After a couple listens, I still think he is one of the most interesting rappers at it right now. I mean, he sings half the time on this one. Plus, my favorite producer from Chicago, Monte Booker, keeps everything interesting.
