Noname is the incredibly talented Chicago rapper who made a splash on the scene with various features on fellow Chicago artists’ tracks like Chance the Rapper, but she really stepped into her own with her debut mixtape Telefone. If for some reason you missed it in 2016 or haven’t revisited it in a minute, check it out below.
There is so much incredible talent coming out of Chicago, it’s bonkers. And I love how supportive everyone in the scene is of each other. It’s such an honor to work with them and help build their careers.
Between Noname, Ravyn Lenae, Saba, Smino, Monte Booker, and Phoelix (who produced most of Room 25), the future for Chicago’s hip-hop and r’n’b scene is as strong as ever.
